Our Story
We have been together for over 30 years (five years dating - yes that was way too long; and twenty-seven years - yes that could have been longer). We met through Jeff's mom (yes, you read that right), who had been telling Jeff all about this girl working with her. Their paths crossed one day, and Jeff thought there is no way this girl would have anything to do with him. A few months later, she tracked him down - oh yeah, that's right - and the rest is the greatest love story ever told.

Our Family
Today we have three amazing and one son by marriage. Ansleigh (25) and Asher(26), Amory (20), and Abigail (14). Our children are the love of our lives and our greatest life's accomplishment. We navigate this crazy world together - loving each other, supporting each other, forgiving each other, and helping each other to be all that God has made and called us to be.
Ansleigh and Asher were just married June of 2024. They are learning quickly what it is like to balance marriage, work, friends, and ministry. Ansleigh is an entrepreneur with her own ballet studio in two location with nearly 300 students.
Amory is a sophmore in college with ambitions of doing something wit his life that "makes lots of money." He is determined and has a never give up mentality...no matter how many times his mom says "no."
Abigail is a ninth-grader at a local Christian high school and is her sister's "mini-me." They go everywhere and do everything together. Abi is an organizing wiz with plans to have her own tv reality show one day.
Asher is our son by marriage (Candy just can't say "son-in-law). He works in sales for a local insulation and specialty company. He is a very hard worker and a dedicated husband. Asher is taller than all of us, so we are praying his height is spread to the next generation.
We believe these four love Jesus, most of the time love us, and radomly love each other. We have prayed for the Lord to give each of them a passion for Him and His Church. He has blessed us greatly with these world-changers!
Our Community
We have over 28 years of full-time vocational ministry experience. The last 18 years serving as lead pastor in the church we planted. Today, I serve as the founding and lead pastor of Southside Church in Athens, GA, and Candy is working to build a real estate business and helping me as the "First Lady" of Southside. We began "Win at Home" with the desire to help other couples in ministry successfully face the challenges that come with living life in fish bowl.
Our Statement of Faith
SCRIPTURE
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error.
GOD
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to become the Savior of the lost world.
HUMANITY
We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts.
SALVATION
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.
CHRISTIAN LIFE
We believe all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.
CHURCH
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving him and by making him known to the lost world.
MARRIAGE
We believe that because God our Creator established marriage as a sacred institution between one (1) man and one (1) woman, the idea that marriage is a covenant only between one (1) man and one (1) woman has been the traditional definition of marriage for all of human history ("Traditional Definition of Marriage"). Because of the longstanding importance of the Traditional Definition of Marriage to humans and their relationships and communities, and, most importantly, the fact that God has ordained that marriage be between one (1) man and one (1) woman, as clearly conveyed in God's inerrant Scriptures
